Lighter
Lighters can be purchased from shops for $150. Their main use is to ignite the firebox of steam locomotives by throwing one in, after which it will return to your inventory and can be used again. It can ignite flammable cargo leaking from damaged cars.
To use the lighter: 1. Hold the lighter in your hand. 2. Use mouse wheel scroll to open a lid. 3. Left mouse-click to lit the fire. 4. Throw the lighter into opened firebox (default G to throw item).
If the lighter does not fully enter the firebox, it can become "stuck" due to the firebox doors taking interaction priority. If this happens, lean into the firebox with Q or E and try selecting the lighter again.
As part of the simulator update, it will become a weak light source, and can be used to light the lantern.
